Chengdu trip Memories

It’s has been 1 year since the chengdu trip last year. Thinking of it brings back memories, 6 of us( jiahui,fongyee,henry,yilong,hwaswee and me) flew on 11 april in the morning after a surprise birthday celebration from my class at the airport. After a 4 hour plus flight, we arrived in chengdu at 3.30pm, the first thing we did was to call back to singapore (haha testing the phone connection), actually is report to parents:)

We were calling back while waiting to clear the custom, one by one we passed the custom to the arrival area where our company staff is waiting. I remembered outside the airport, the difference in air quality is obvious and there’s no blue sky with clouds but the temperature is cooling.

We loaded our luggage into the van and travelled for about 45 minutes to reach our home for the next 4 months-紫荆名苑 at 紫荆西路.(“zi jing” street).

There was no lift and we had to carry our heavy luggage up to 6 storey where we lived. After settling down, we went out to the nearby Carrefour to buy 日常用品. Went back home to tidy up the place as the home was in a mess. Around evening time, i remembered i went back to Carrefour with Hwa Swee to buy big bottles of mineral water back along with sichuan flavour cup noodles and roast chicken and bread for our dinner.

It was a memorable dinner for us to adjust, with the cup noodles tasting “special”. The other food like the bread and roasted chicken taste “singaporean”.

I think we ate in the living room in front of the TV that has 40+ channels. There was no internet access and the TV was our best friend haha.

The night was cold and we had to wear jacket even though we are inside the house. That day we slept quite early due to the long flight.

Next morning, we met our company staff at 8am, who showed us the way to travel to our office. And off we went, boarding the public bus (bus fare is RMB 1 = 20 cents in singapore) to our office to begin our attachment for the next 4 months and the rest is history…

I come across this list of quotes by Bill Gates and find it inspiring for myself and everyone, quite useful for people like me who just graduated and stepping out into the working society. It’s in chinese as it’s from a chinese article:

After reading this, i found a lot of truth in it and inspiring as well, and it’s true that no one can help yourself, other than yourself.

Wahjong

What have i been doing nowadays? I have been going to work everyday, doing designs from morning till evening. Finally, when i reach home, i would be too tired to find other things to do. Then I would relax by playing wahjong at viwawa…this continues for about one week…i have reached level 6:)

NUS Chinese Orchestra Concert

On Saturday, went to Eugene’s concert with jason, sihui, choonkiat, leongwei, shiping, zhirong and hwee leng. In the concert, i find the first piece 天山盛会 and the malay folksong the best. At the same time, it’s also Taiwan Presidential Election Day.The result is out when we were having dinner, 马英九 is the new president. Throughout the campaign, one thing that interest me is their campaign advertisements. Some are quite impressive.Below are some ads from the two parties:

Move house

I have just moved from blogger to wordpress…currently rebuilding

Graduation

It’s been one week after fusion show, 3 years pass so quickly…now i am waiting for enlistment.What have i been doing for the past one week-I receive some job offers and a freelance.

Had a bad experience with freelance,i send them my sample design, but nv got to hear from them again.i will take it as an experience and anyway add on to portfolio too:)

Friday, went down for interview at a design co.It’s a motion graphics co. but they also do interactive and prints. Currently waiting for their reply. Then at night, met 0505 group sihui,becca,jason,leongwei,xueqi and rickson. Very funny outing, really enjoyed it. Had chicken wings for dessert, haha:) We end off by watching 10000BC for midnight show.

Next outing coming up is OPP outing this wed, looking forward to seeing my chengdu trip friends..:)
